Ok, so i may not be (and i propably ain't) a street photographer. But i decided to enter the contest... why not? : ) Street photography is a thing i may not show on DA often but i really do like it and practise it quite often wandering the streets and beaches of my city.
Soooo... why i took this shoot? Being born at seaside 24 years ago I can't imagine living anywhere where there isn't beaches and sea. Still, never in my life did I go fishing. Taking photos of fisherman living in my area makes me think of some similarity between their activity and street photgraphy. I guess taking street shoots is a combination of skills, patience and luck... and so is fishing (for me, as an observer and person who never caught a fish in his life). Looking at the photo i still remember that rainy day and how cold my hands were as I forgot to take my gloves...
Photo was taken at Sopot/Poland somewhere in early October 2004. I took it with a Canon eos 33 camera with Tamron 70-300 4-5.6 lens attached, set at about 120mm and 5.6 aperture, exposure time was as far as I remember somewhere around 1/15th of a secon (no tripod used). Shoot on Kodak protofo 400@320 and scanned in a lab (therefore the tones). In photoshop: brightness +2, contrast +6, resize, white frame.
